About the role
HANA security is often left to Basis teams who have many other priorities. You will bring structure to it: designing privilege models, building HDI and repository roles, configuring audit policies and reviewing hardening against SAP recommendations.
The role spans S/4HANA underlying databases, native HANA applications and data warehousing scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Design HANA user, privilege and role models aligned with application security
- Build and maintain catalog, repository and HDI roles
- Configure analytic privileges for reporting scenarios
- Define audit policies and support security monitoring
- Review encryption, network and parameter hardening
Requirements
- 5+ years in SAP security or Basis with at least 3 years focused on HANA security
- Hands-on with HANA privileges, roles (including HDI) and audit configuration
- Understanding of how HANA security interacts with S/4HANA and BW/4HANA
- Familiarity with SAP security notes and hardening guides
Nice to have
- SAP Datasphere or BW/4HANA
- Database encryption and key management
- Cloud-hosted HANA (RISE, hyperscalers)
